Teaching Care Home

Teaching Care Home Project

At Kineton Manor Nursing Home, we are one of 15 Teaching Care Homes in the UK aiming to enhance care experiences through collaboration with other nursing homes about shared experiences and best practice. Based in Warwickshire, we will be holding regular seminars and discussion groups.

Learning through shared experience and best practice

We are very pleased that Kineton Manor Nursing Home (Rated "Outstanding" in 2016, 2019 and "Good" in 2021 with "Outstanding" for "Caring" and "Responsive", by the Care Quality Commission) is one of 15 Teaching Care Homes in the UK. The main aim of a Teaching Care Home is to work in collaboration with others to enhance care experiences, learning developmental opportunities and to improve the image of all nursing homes.

Working with us to achieve our goal are Denise Forte a Senior Lecturer from Kingston and St. George's University London and Dr Rachel Potter a Senior Research Fellow from Warwick University Medical School. Both Denise and Rachel are nurses by background. Also supporting us with this project are Dr Martin Read-Jones from Hastings House Surgery, Wellesbourne and Fawn Harrad from ENRICH (Enabling Research in Care Homes). Our local MP Mr Jeremy Wright also offers his support and is very enthusiastic about the project.
"My family is very satisfied that I am happy and being cared for, as they live some distance away, and there is a very good relationship with all members of staff. Long may it continue."
- Josephine Lord (Resident)
